did anyone see the recent questions from readers that cautions against about using gift registries for you wedding?

C'mon guys - this one is easy.

The reason why the WT wastes ink on this crap is because there are thousands of Bethelites who get invited to weddings and bridal showers and of course - they have nothing to spend on a gift. The WT sticks up for them by making us settle for a set of knives from the local 99cent store. Have you ever seen the face of a Bethelite at a baby shower, a bridal shower when 'gift opening time' comes around - they are usually in the kitchen talking about 'spiritual matters' to cover for their cheap-ass gift.

i've been reading in this forum that charles t. was a mason up until his death, and that he was buried as a mummy.

i also heard that the guy who wrote the new world translation was in court at one point, and was proved a fraud because he couldn't read greek, much less transalate it.

does anyone have any proof of all this?

Is this God's idea of a sick joke? Couldn't God have given Apes an extra head or something just to avoid the confusion? Revelation is loaded with all kinds of freaky beasts and stuff, why not make one of those instead of an animal that resembles a freakin' human!!!

well, it has finally happened.

my jw husband came home last week and told me he is moving out.

it seems he has been talking to the elders, and they feel his spirituality is being threatened (even though i have not insisted he stop going to meetings, i won't allow any jw material in my home because of my children from a previous marriage - i don't want them exposed to it.

If I won the lottery, I would deposit 50% of the earnings into an annuity and live off the interest for the rest of my life. The material things it will buy are of no interest to me. Thanks to the American Dream, I've been able to pick up some nice 'toys' for myself. But none have brought me any real fulfillment, because I've always had a need to give to others.

I would then take 25% of the remaning 25% to start a foundation to further educate underpriviliged NYC kids so they can someday earn a scholarship to a good university.

And I would use the other 25% to fund a foundation that will build schools in Latin American countries - so they can attend universities in the U.S.

Along with this documentary, he has published several scientific papers and a book on this subject. If his findings are correct, this could have serious implications on the theological version of creation. After all, Jews, Muslims and Christians believe that man originated somewhere in the Middle East. The Bible does not give an exact location, but the few references it makes do not lead anywhere near Africa.

Do you remember reading the WT publication: Life: How did it get here? By evolution or by creation? Did anyone find it's explanation of creation valid?

If Adam and Eve were created by God, where did they live? Were they African? If man did originate in Africa, why does the Bible say otherwise? If man was created by God in Africa, was this fact hidden by the early translators of the Bible?

why i can't anymore : sorry for my poor english, but i've tried hard !!

since the beginning of the time, till the 19th century and more, most of stories and songs for kids, was made to scary them with a moral at the end.

to me, the bible is one of kind of that type of book (for children we are inside).
